Two weeks later
I’m finally done with @13reasonswhy Season 2~ Watching this sequel has
been a painful experience. I HATE so many layers of it. The flow of the story
is so messy~ I don’t get to really understand where the story goes until
episode 8 or so, 1-7 are utterly confusing and gratuitous. The characters are
badly treated. I can’t stand the amount of inconsistencies in almost every
single one of them—the only one that stays solid with justifiable action
following the 1st season is Justin Foley. Keeping up with him and the scenes at
the trials are the only things that keep me watching the series until the end.
The rest is almost unwatchable. Everyone else is just meh, even Clay Jensen
whose character is supposed to be a very easy vengeful protagonist failed
miserably in character development department. I especially hate how they shift
the focus from suicide to sexual assault which I think it’s beyond stupid.
Like, what the fuck?! They left Season 1 with so much irresponsibilities (cue:
glamorising suicide) and remain ridiculously irresponsible in Season 2 with
glamorising guns and rape?? Wow. How the lesson is learned. On a side note,
this season does share some important messages about consent, but that also
half-assed delivered. So that’s it. No more following the series in the future.
This ends right here. (2/10)
